Kenya on Sunday recorded 137 new cases of Covid-19, raising the country’s total confirmed cases to 3,594.
The new cases emerged from 3,167 samples that were tested in the last 24 hours, Health CS Mutahi Kagwe said in a press briefing.
He said Kenya’s cumulative tests done now stand at 115,336.
The CS said all the positive cases are Kenyans, with 102 being males and 35 females.
“The youngest is one year old and the oldest 82 years. Nairobi leads with 92 cases, Mombasa, 16, Kajiado, 15, Busia and Kiambu four cases each, Kilifi, Nakuru,Nyamira, Uasin Gishu, Siaya and Muranga, have one case each,” he said.
Kagwe said Nyamira is the latest county to report a COVID-19 case, bringing the total affected counties to 39.
“We are happy to report that we have discharged 32 patients from various hospitals, bringing the tally of recoveries to 1,253,” he said.
Kagwe said unfortunately three more patients have succumbed to the disease bringing the number of deaths to 103.
