2 army officers exposed as Juba county changed the issuance of plot documents from tokens to forms.

According to Juba County’s press secretary, police detained two army officers in Juba for unlawfully producing and selling phony land tokens to the public.
Taban Stephen indicated in an Eye Radio broadcast obtained by NCMP that this is the result of the County authorities changing the delivery of plot documentation from tokens to forms in an effort to hunt down authorized persons selling property to people unlawfully.
“We’d been experiencing this problem, but when the government switched to utilizing forms instead of tokens, we were able to track these folks down and arrest them,” Stephen said. Stephen refused to identify the suspects since the matter is still being investigated. The individuals, who are thought to be army officers, are being detained at the Kubri Haboba police station.
“We know they’re troops with ranks,” Stephen said. He is now urging the public to be wary of fraudsters when applying for the property at the Payam and county levels.
The Central Equatorial administration announced in June that it had begun writing legislation to manage land distribution and usage in the state. The measure was supposed to reduce systemic inefficiencies while also resolving disputes over land distribution and ownership in the state.
Emmanuel Adil Anthony, the governor of Central Equatoria State, said some months ago that land was one of the key sources of instability in the state.
His words came after a series of conflicts between local groups and newcomers on Juba’s outskirts.
The most recent event occurred around four months ago, when inhabitants of the Jondoru district west of Juba battled with land grabbers, resulting in one fatality and hundreds of injuries.
Prior to this, multiple plot owners clashed with land grabbers in the Khor William region, where President Salva Kiir just commissioned the new lifeline bridge, Freedom Bridge.
These episodes occurred after a violent struggle in the Garbo region along the Juba-Bor route, which is still being built. So far, the regions have been rather tranquil as a result of actions by state and national authorities.
