A grenade assault in Aweil got two killed and over 25 injured.

In a grenade assault in Aweil, Northern Bahr el Ghazal on Friday nite, two individuals were killed and twenty-four others wounded, including nine children.
During a nite party in the Kueny Rac district of Aweil Town, a suspected SSPDF soldier allegedly put a grenade near a generator and exploded another.
The event is said to have happened on Saturday at 5 a.m. when the youngsters in the region had a party to celebrate a football win over their opponents in the area.
According to authorities, the individual was identified as Amuk Abut, a soldier who was forced out of the celebration after creating havoc among the feasting throng. Abut then went home and returned with two hand grenades, one of which he threw into the throng.
Captain Guot Guot Akot is the area’s police spokesperson.
He claims that police have started looking for the offender and that a case has been opened in all of Aweil Town’s departments.
“The device detonated, injuring 33 people and killing two on the spot.” Unfortunately, he (the murderer) is still being sought, and our vehicles are still seeking him, “Captain Guot explained.
Authorities have yet to release the identity of the dead. According to Captain Guot, the wounded are presently being treated at Aweil Civil Hospital.
Nine youngsters between the ages of 10 and 13 are among the injured. This is the second grenade explosion recorded in Aweil in less than a year.
A 13-year-old kid was allegedly killed and his two younger sisters were badly wounded in a grenade explosion in Shilkaw Payam, Nyamlel region of Aweil West County in February last year.
Their father, SSPDF officer Atir Awech, allegedly put the grenade in a satchel, which the children mistook for a toy.
