A power outage is imminent in Juba.

The electricity supplier has announced that there would be a complete power outage in Juba starting on Monday.
According to a public notification issued today by the Juba Electricity Distribution Company (JEDCO), the power outage would begin at 6 a.m. and last until 6 p.m.
In its yearly preventive maintenance report for the Juba substation and distribution network, JEDCO explains that this was due to “annual preventative maintenance.”
JEDCO is responsible for supplying electricity to households, companies, and government institutions in Juba.
Ezra Construction and Development Company, which operates a 100 Megawatt energy plant, is responsible for generating the electricity.
Last year, JEDCO announced that it had linked over 10,000 households, companies, and organisations to the grid, an increase from the previous year.
