African Peace and Security Council Takes Bold Action, Sends Forces to Sudan Amid Crisis

The African Peace and Security Council, in the presence of IGAD, the European Union, the Secretary of the United Nations, and the Americans, held an emergency meeting in Ethiopia over the crisis in Sudan.
The council has issued resolutions regarding Sudan by sending forces from the African Union and UN forces led by the Americans, which will occupy Khartoum airport, repair it, and run it in preparation for the arrival of aid, UN forces, and the imposition of international trusteeship.
Furthermore, the council’s decisions concerning the protection of civilians in Sudan are binding on Sudan and the United Nations, thus avoiding the Russian-Chinese objection in the Security Council.
However, Kizan, who controls the de facto authority in Sudan, rejects the council’s decision and instead sends a message to the United Nations to replace Volker, the leader of the democratic transition.
To make matters worse, Kizan also intends to distribute weapons to civilians to exacerbate the already tense situation and ignite a civil war, which would threaten African peace and security.
Despite Kizan’s actions, the arrival of weapons from Russia through Wagner, a Russian fighting unit, pushed the West to intervene further under the guise of the African Union.
The council, currently in a meeting, is set to issue a statement in the next few hours. However, it is believed that the council will support the Sudanese people’s democratic transition and protect civilians within Sudan.
