After a series of dramas, the South Sudanese health minister reinstalls the ministry’s undersecretary.

The waves that had roiled the Ministry of Health have finally receded, as Minister of Health Elizabeth Achuei Yol reinstalls Undersecretary Dr Victoria Anib Majur.
The Undersecretary has been instructed to resume her work as soon as the order is issued.
In exercise of the powers vested in me by Article 114 (2) (c) and Article 31 of the Transitional Constitution of the Republic of South Sudan 2011 (as amended), read in conjunction with Republican Decree No: 222/2020, I Elizabeth Acuei Yol, Minister for Health, do hereby issue this Ministerial order,” the statement said.
“Removing the suspension of Dr. Victoria Anib Majur, the Ministry of Health’s Undersecretary.” The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health is now ordered to resume her duties as soon as possible.”
Dr Victoria was suspended by the minister in October 2021 after following the suggestion of the vice president for the service cluster, Hussein Abdelbagi Ayii Akol, to rearrange the administration of Juba Teaching Hospital in her absence and without her agreement.
Following that, Achuei canceled the reshuffle, resulting in a stalemate between the ministry and the vice president, Akol. Akol chastised Achuei for failing to select an interim minister before to her departure.
Tut Gatluak Manime, President Kiir’s security adviser, was tasked with resolving the deadlock. However, the disagreement seemed to have remained unsolved since the undersecretary was seen carrying out official activities that were covered by the vice president’s authority.
