As the violence in Magwi increases, a doctor is dragged from the hospital and brutally murdered by cattle keepers.

An experienced medical professional employed by the Eastern Equatoria state ministry of health was brutally murdered on Thursday at a local medical facility in Mugali by suspected livestock keepers from Jonglei state.
A top government source who sought anonymity explained in a Sudans Post report seen by NCMP that Dr. Patrick Tongun was slain on Thursday evening while at the hospital and that he was hauled out of the local health institution and had his neck cut off before dying.
“On Thursday, cow keepers from Bor assassinated Dr. Patrick.” Dr. Patrick has been working with non-governmental organizations in the Equatoria area for 20 years and just joined the ministry of health, where he was engaged at Mugali PHCU,” a government official stated.
“While treating some of the injured persons at this health center, he was taken out and slain.”
They slit his neck and he died as a result. This is heinous, and we condemn it in the harshest possible terms,” he continued.
According to a senior government source who declined to be identified, the veteran health worker was in his late 50s when he was assassinated, and he urged the central government to interfere.
