Authorities execute suspected murderer in Lakes State

Lakes State authorities executed a suspected murderer, Kucjo Tuor, by firing squad on Tuesday after he reportedly murdered a man who committed adultery with his wife in Rumbek town, sources revealed.
Tuor, a sergeant in the army, is claimed to have been from the Beli village in Wulu County. He was killed at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday in Rumbek’s Malith area.
Major Elijah Mabor Makuac, the Lakes State police spokesman, confirmed the execution by firing squad and said that it was in accordance with the decisions of the towns in the state addressing such instances.
“It was something that occurred yesterday (Tuesday) around 2:30 p.m. when a sergeant murdered a comrade in the Malith residential neighborhood.” “The suspect (murderer) was apprehended, and it was discovered that the disagreement was over a lady,” he said. “He was apprehended yesterday and sentenced under Lakes State Resolution 51, and everything is now completed.”
“According to Lakes State Resolution 51, if you murder someone, you shall likewise be killed.” If someone wrongs you, you report it to the police station rather than taking the law into your own hands, according to Maj. Mabor.
Sergeant Tuor was executed by firing squad, according to Wulu County Commissioner Jima Diffala Rejab, who also indicated the dead was from his county.
“He was slain by security forces yesterday (Tuesday) for murdering another guy in Rumbek Town, not here in Wulu County,” he said.
Marial Agok, Maken Dut, and Marual Deng were also murdered by firing squad on May 19, 2022, in the Arielteen region, a few kilometers from the Yirol West County headquarters.
Some families of those executed have subsequently claimed that they did not get a fair court hearing and that they were executed extrajudicially based on hearsay rather than substantial proof.
