The King of Azande, Atoroba Peni Rikito Gbudue II, has taken a significant step by appointing a Prime Minister and four Ministers to his royal administration, marking a milestone two years after the restoration of the Azande Kingdom in February 2022.
In a ceremonial event witnessed by thousands of people at the new palace in Bazungua Payam, the King named Prince Tedeo Mario Sasa as the Prime Minister of the Azande Kingdom, along with four other Ministers: Roto Anibiapai Enoka as the Minister for King’s Affairs, Royal Family, Information and Communication, Land, Azande in diaspora, and other Affairs; Bagboro Betuel Richard Bagboro as the Minister of Finance and Economic Development; Natale Fortinato Zingisi as the Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives; and Christin Ngbaazande as the Minister of Development, Gender, and Children’s Affairs.
The appointments were made following royal ceremonies administered by elders of the royal family, as well as the formal approval by President Salva Kiir.
This endorsement resulted in the creation of the monarchy’s anthem and the raising of the Azande flag as symbols of the Kingdom’s renewed presence.
Addressing the newly appointed officials, King Atoroba highlighted the Kingdom’s core values, particularly the importance of peace and unity.
He emphasized the need for respect and politeness in the Kingdom, pointing out the significance of maintaining harmony among the diverse communities within the Azande Kingdom.
Minister of Presidential Affairs, Bangasi Joseph Bakosoro, conveyed President Salva Kiir’s strong emphasis on the restoration of peace and unity within the Azande Kingdom, encouraging all citizens to uphold these values.
The formation of the royal cabinet and the subsequent directive from King Atoroba underscore the Kingdom’s commitment to fostering peace and unity as integral elements of its governance and social fabric.”
