Hon Robert Kyagulanyi (Bobi Wine) the President of the National Unity Platform (NUP) has assigned Hon John Baptist Nambeshe, the Deputy party President for the Eastern Region to take over the office of the Party President for a period of three weeks.
In a letter issued by Hon Kyagulanyi’s secretary on Sunday 20th June 2021, was tasked to serve as party president for this period when Hon Kyagulanyi will be outside the country attending to other official duties.
“This is to inform you that the Party President Hon Kyagularyi Ssentamu Robert has asked me to notify you that he has designated you as the Acting Party President for three weeks from June 20, 2021 to July 10, 2021 while he is out of the country on official duties.
“This appointment is made pursuant to Article 7.1 (e) of the Party Constitution,” reads the letter.
This development comes weeks after Nambeshe was appointed as the Opposition Chief Whip in parliament.
