Child killer escapes from Kenyan police custody

A serial killer who admitted to killing ten children has eluded capture days after bringing homicide cops to four crime scenes where some of the killings took place.
Masten Wanjala Milimu, 20, fled from the Jogoo Road Police Station in Nairobi, Kenya’s capital, on late Tuesday or early Wednesday, police revealed to the media on Wednesday. He was awaiting trial on more than ten counts of murder.
The serial killer’s whereabouts are unknown, but authorities, led by Nairobi police chief James Mugera, said they have thrown a wide net in key towns in pursuit of him.
After discovering one of the detainees was missing during a regular morning roll call on Wednesday, police officers raised the alarm.
Masten Milimu was scheduled to appear in court for a hearing on Wednesday, police said, adding that they had linked the killer to 14 murders in western Kenya in July.
Milimu informed authorities that almost all of his victims were boys, whom he sedated before killing and drank their blood frequently.
