Cobra writes history as they qualify for BAL 2022.

South Sudan representatives at the Africa Basketball League qualifiers, Cobra Club have qualified for the African Basketball League (BAL).
The team went past the New Star club of Burundi on Friday to make it to the final and also reach the 2022 tournament.
Cobra as always, started on a slow note, going down in the first quarter 18-13 points with some poor defending and giving to many throws to New Stars.
A much improved second quarter display from the Juba-based club saw them leapfrog their fellow East African counterparts, winning the quarter 41-37 with Niziyach hitting a three-pointer with just 5 seconds to go to the end of the quarter and half.
After the restart, an energetic performance from David Deng, who made three-pointers every time Cobra attacked, ensured his team kept their lead.
Defensively Cobra looked a better team against New Stars, unlike during their game against Ulinzi Warriors of Kenya on Wednesday.
Cobra then finished the last quarter strongly to send the Burundian side out of the tournament and qualify for the African Basketball League.
Cobra becomes the first team from South Sudan to qualify for a major tournament.
