COVID-19: 9 dead bodies tested positive, 155 more cases confirmed as S. Sudan Min. of health threatened to withdraw license of private Labs.

The Ministry of Health says 9 dead bodies tested positive for coronavirus, 155 more cases are discovered and the ministry has threatened to revoke the license of the private laboratory that doesn’t provide full details of the tests carried out in their laboratory.
The number of coronavirus cases in the country has climbed to 7,926 after another 155 cases were confirmed by the ministry of health.
According to the ministry, in an effort to curb the pandemic, there is a need for contact tracing, but the report provided by the private laboratories doesn’t allow the ministry to do contact tracing. The national ministry of health hereby threatened to withdraw the operating license issued to private laboratories accredited to test travelers against COVID-19 that is not providing full details of the test carried out.
The ministry in its weekly briefing on Sunday cautioned the public to take the pandemic seriously and follow the necessary precautions.
The Director-General for Preventive Health Services, Dr. John Romunu said nine severe cases are admitted at the Dr John Garang Infectious Disease Unit – two of them in a critical condition. He said there have been 4,271 recoveries and 93 deaths to date.
The Chief of Operation for COVID-19 in the ministry of Health and the manager of Public Health Operation Centre, Dr. Angelo Guop Thon says the move follows non-compliance by the private labs to submit required information including phone number and location to allow the contact tracing teams to follow up positive cases and their contacts.
Guop says they have given the last chance to the private laboratories accredited by the government to test COVID-19 to provide a detailed report otherwise they would recommend to the COVID-19 National Taskforce for the withdrawal of the operation certificates.
Also in later development, the manager of the Public Health Emergency Operations Center, the public health laboratory is confirming more coronavirus death posthumously due to negligence by the public to take their loved one for coronavirus test while feeling unwell.
The public is to take those feeling unwell to the hospital to ascertain their COVID-19 status.
