Tomori, NCMP – Different opinions thrilled the just concluded peace concert that featured Diamond platnumz. Thousands of youth and children celebrated Christmas in the peace concert held at Dr. John Garang Museleoum under the theme, “together for peace and unity”.
Nasibu Abdul Juma Issack, popularly known by his stage name Diamond Platnumz wowed so many youths with his astonishing but also morally questionable performance.
Here are a few of the South Sudanese’s opinion about the event:
Opinion on Security: National Security is the responsibility of the Police especially during such events. South Sudan have a Police Department that is the closest security institution to the civilians and citizens in general. Getting National Security agents in Peace Concert to protect National, Regional or even International Artists is totally wrong.
Opinion on the Concert’s finances: If we can’t celebrate our independence and unify our army because of Finances and manage to invite a foreign artiste who can’t differentiate between South Sudan and Sudan and paid him a whopping amount of dollars that could serve the suffering civilians of this great nation. I am so disappointed and ashamed of our leaders.
Opinion about the location: This so-called peace concert it should be all over the 10 states not only in Juba
Here is other random opinions about the event:
Opinion: I don’t agree with those who said that H.E. the President of the Republic of South Sudan should not go and attend that Historical day because of Coronavirus they’re the people who don’t know Cde president well. First Mr. President is a freedom fighter since 1962 until we got an Independence in 2011 from old Sudan through His petrol. I think H: E the president loves our beloved country better than His life. Can you please see his own videos during the war?
Opinion: A peace with us in Juba city while the rest of the country is in suffering, is meaningless.
Opinion: Peace has now become a song nowadays. Why not focus on the development of the country including services to the people and that when people will forget the past and focus on the present and that will lead to what we call peace when everyone is receiving equal service. Please our airport gate needs some help.
Opinion: The youth are going through some difficulties especially unemployment, poverty, and marginalization. Those who attend this show seem very young and uninformed about how this country is going.
Opinion: H.E, I HAVE ONLY ONE QUESTION IN CAPITAL LETTERS FOR YOU. WHAT ARE YOUR PLANS FOR A FARMER LIKE ME? All I need is a clean road, not even a tarmac, school, hospital, and security for my life and plants then I will deal with the Dollar issue. Thank you for considering. By the way, you can use this Covid-19 period for renovations of the schools and hospitals plus the roads. Thanks once again.
Opinion: The country has imported mess and disgrace today, imagine South Sudan’s pounds currency are being misused in daylight. TZ Diamond and his mad dancers are just stepping on the money with their feet while dancing. What a big question to the country’s sovereignty? The national property becomes useless for a simple music concert.
In all, it is a good attempt by the Kiir lead administration to bring everybody together, though Kiir has been known for such an attitude in the past.
It is obvious that none of the Vice presidents attended the event, when the peace agreement is fully implemented, then there will be peace in the country.
