EE state health ministry collaborated with WHO, UNICEF, to launch covid vaccination in Torit and Magwi.

On Saturday, the Eastern Equatoria State ministry of health launched a vaccination campaign with the World Health Organization (WHO) and UNICEF.
A new campaign targeting 98,764 people began last Friday. 28,107 people live in Magwi, and 70,657 live in Torit.
Dr. Etin Concord Erib of the health ministry said the vaccination campaign will eventually cover the entire state after receiving 574 vials of the Covid-19 vaccine from Johnson & Johnson.
East Equatoria State now has 99,338 vaccines delivered by Johnson and Johnson.
Dr. Erib said that vaccination is the only way to combat this epidemic at Nyong PHCC in Torit town at the launch of the campaign.
Dr. Erib said the only way to end the pandemic is through vaccines because prevention is better than cure. During a pandemic, you will probably be completely ill, incapable of working or gardening, and eventually die.”
Secondly, you are stopping the spread of the virus by taking the vaccine. If the body is infected, no drug will work.”
In Torit and Magwi, WHO consultant Momodou Barrow said they are implementing the Covid-19 vaccination campaign and urging community leaders to mobilize people to get the vaccine.
“This is a great chance for people who missed the J&J vaccine earlier to come over and get their first dose,” said Barrow. He added, “It’s just a simple shot.” After taking the vaccine, you will be protected 100% against Covid-19. There is no other way to end this pandemic than vaccination, and we all have a part to play.”
We have all witnessed the reduction of cases worldwide as a result of the invention of vaccines, including in South Sudan and our state, so it is very imperative that we all mobilize our communities,” he added.
Kulang Lucy Morris, 28, a resident of Hai Kuku area in Torit who walked a long distance for the vaccination, says the vaccine is effective in preventing sickness and death.
Because many people died due to this virus, this vaccine is very effective and helps us greatly. We want to prevent ourselves and our families from getting sick, so I am telling everyone in Torit who has not been vaccinated to apply right away,” Kulang said. Following vaccination, you need to follow some instructions, like washing your hands with soap constantly.”
