Get Ready to Celebrate: March 3rd Could be South Sudan’s New National Holiday, According to Former SSBF Secretary General!

Acuil Banggol, the former founding Secretary General of the SSBF, proposed that March 3rd be included among the celebrated days in South Sudan since it might be adopted as the national sports and culture day by the South Sudanese National Olympic Committee.
Originally, the 3rd March has been South Sudanese Unity Day when the three southern states of Equatoria notably Bahr El Ghazel, and the upper Nile wisely organized yearly sports and cultural festivals.
According to Banggol, March 3rd should be a day of rising monuments of the likes of Manut Bol, Luol Deng, and the winning bright stars basketball team in the would-be national sports complex in Juba, as President Kiir would also be seen handing a basketball to Luol Deng, the NBA’s legendary supper star of all time, while dressed up in their uniform.
He went on to say that this day should be as significant as the previous two events, the Pope’s visit and the royal honoring of President Kiir, to make it the third most celebrated, making it another historical day to commemorate the achievement of the intended aim.
He also urged the sports and cultural community activists to use this date and launch the national committed for sports and culture.
