NCMP – Many people in South Sudan are delighted to welcome Pope Francis on his official visit to their country on February 3, 2023, which has been declared a public holiday in South Sudan by President Salva Kiir Mayardit.
Well, NCMP has arrived to offer you the holy father’s itinerary for the many days he will spend in the nation.
On his first day in the country, February 3rd, the pontiff will meet with the president and foreign diplomats for a meet and greet session before retiring to his Vatican residence, while the rest of his accompanying delegations will be escorted to their resting place, the Raddison Blu hotel, in the afternoon.
On his next day of stay, February 4th, he will pray from Saint Theresa in Kator, while other religious leaders from their different faiths will attend.
The Archbishop of Canterbury will pray at All Saints Cathedral, while the Moderator General will pray at Jebel at Presbyterian Church.
Later that evening, the Pope and his party will meet with IDPs at Freedom Hall before proceeding to Dr. John Garang Mausoleum for public prayers, where thousands of people are anticipated to gather to get a sight of the holy father.
The pope (Francis) and his team will attend a farewell liturgy at the Mausoleum on February 5th, following which they will be escorted out of South Sudan.
