I can’t be suspended because I was elected, I have been working in my office since the day I was suspended. -Gola
Gola Boyoi Gola contends that the Minister of Youth and Sports has no legal authority to suspend an elected Youth Union head.
Dr. Albino Bol Dhieu suspended Gola Boyoi on Friday for allegedly overstepping his authority.
Gola is accused of violating protocol by sending letters to the President of the Arab Republic of Egypt and the Deputy President of the Sudan Sovereign Council without following proper protocol.
“I didn’t send any letters.” And let me state unequivocally that I have not seen these letters. People are only discussing how it was distributed in 2020. He said that “a number of letters had been fabricated.”
Minister Albino Bol Dhieu issued a ministerial directive on Thursday ordering Gola Boyoi Gola to be suspended pending an inquiry.
Mr. Boyoi, on the other hand, claims that the letters are made up and that the suspension is politically motivated.
“This ministerial directive strikes me as politically motivated; how can you suspend someone without first verifying their documents?” “What makes you come to the conclusion if you haven’t yet created the fact?” Gola inquired.
Gola, who has been at odds with the Youth Minister, has now refused to stand down, arguing that Dr. Bol lacks constitutional authority to suspend him.
Gola claimed that the national youth union is an autonomous organization with its own constitution, and the chairperson is elected and cannot be dismissed by ministerial decree.
