In Lakes State, the Lands Ministry begins an assessment for road opening.

The Lakes State ministry of housing, lands and public utilities has initiated a master plan study for opening up road networks in all the payams in the state, starting with Aluakluak Payam in Yirol West County.
The state roads minister, Majur Mayom, explained in a Radio Tamazuj report seen by NCMP at the opening of the project in Aluakluak Payam in Yirol West county that he was following the governor’s direction to survey and open roads in all the payams throughout the Lakes State.
“We are here in Aluakluak Payam to begin off the survey and opening up of the roads, putting up the master plan for Yirol West town as per orders from his governor of Lakes State, Rin Tueny Mabor,” Minister Mayom stated. “He asked me to prepare a master plan for Aluakluak Payam and other payams throughout the state so that we establish the policy and vision of the SPLM led administration of bringing towns to people and not people to town.”
He added: “As you are witnessing, one route has been opened and in 4 or 5 days, the residents of Aluakluak Payam will realize and see some development. I would want to praise the people of Aluakluak Payam, the chiefs, elders, young, and intellectuals for collaborating with us since we arrived. No one sought to dispute or misinterpret what is going on.”
The executive director of Yirol West County, Rin Maker Mading, said it was a delight for the people of Apak in Aluakluak Payam to see the progress.
“It is a tremendous delight for the community of far west to have a second town as Aluakluak Payam and I also appreciate General Rin Tueny Mabor and his leadership for delivering the town to the people,” Maker remarked. “Surveying involves a lot of disruptions but the folks did nothing terrible and welcomed it positively.”
The youth leader in Aluakluak Payam, Jurba Mabor, said they were delighted with the survey and would engage with the state and local administration.
“We will work with the team in anything they require and be ready to help the team. We will try for this survey to finish amicably and without misunderstandings,” Mabor stated.
For his part, Adom Mohamad Abdala, the manager of Eyat firm, commended the Lakes State administration for contracting them to open up the road networks throughout the Payams in the state.
