Iraqi oil minister will address the South Sudan energy conference

The Iraqi Oil Minister, Abdul Jabbar Ismail has been confirmed to speak at the South Sudan Oil & Power (SSOP) 2022 conference slated for the capital, Juba.
The minister, slated to appear at the conference via video, will discuss the opportunities and expanding relevance of bilateral cooperation between the Middle East and East Africa as well as between Iraq and South Sudan.
The conference will take place from September 13-14, promoting the nation as Africa’s greatest potential for prosperity and development.
He will also touch on the linkages between the two onshore oil producers; how the governments and business sectors of both nations may benefit from the partnership in energy; and capacity development in the local workforce.
Iraq is a global oil and gas powerhouse, with substantial onshore knowledge and experience that might help revolutionize the oil sector in South Sudan.
South Sudan’s oilfields present enormous prospects for Middle Eastern corporations, investors, and industry executives, especially from seasoned oil-producing nations like Iraq to participate in the nation’s energy boom.
Organized by the government in conjunction with the Petroleum, Energy, and Finance ministries, SSOP 2022 acts as the country’s official energy event and gathering place for the oil, gas, and energy companies of the area.
Revenues from oil make for more than 90 percent of South Sudan’s yearly budget.
