South Sudan’s President Salva Kiir Mayardit has ordered that all active officers, non-commissioned officers, non-governmental organizations, and South Sudan People’s Defense Forces refrain from engaging in political activities.

Kiir claims that the regular forces, including the national army and national security, have been directed to ensure that these instructions be followed.
He further said that any officer or non-commissioned officer who fails to implement this order would be investigated by the appropriate authorities and punished in line with the law.

In accordance with this, the President issued a Republican Order to bring the previously ineffectual legislation into conformity (s). As a result, it will be up to the interested person to decide whether to enter politics and forego their uniform duty, or not.
