Jonglei State lost two notable leaders in a day: Gen.Manyok Barach, and Gen. Alier Ayom

Two sons of Jonglei state have passed on today. Sincere condolences to the families, friends, relatives, and eventually to all of Jonglei sons and daughters for the loss of Gen. Manyok Barach and Gen. Alier Ayom, who passed on this morning.
Alier Ayom, was a very courageous leader, and he was very active and a good leader. In Ethiopia, he served as Relief Coordinator for the lost boys and refugees in Pinyudu Refugee Camp.

And Also General Manyok Barach an excellent leader in those days when he was one of the commanding officers of the SPLA during struggle.
Alier during his lifetimes has achieved so much; the fruits of his hard work are seen in Juba when he successfully completed the constructions of Humanitarian Affairs and Pension Houses, one after another.
A certain man mocked him sarcastically, that “now you have completed Pension House, what if they come and remove you for another assignment?” Alier replied sympathetically “I can go and build another one over there.” He is a great man who can make a difference in life. Rest in peace.
General Manyok in July 2013, in Renk, he initiated many developmental programs over there and as a matter of fact; he built a school for the community in that land.
Gen, Manyok Barach was a courageous soldier who can face the odd without anxiety in the heart. He fought the war nearly all the days in frontlines. He was an ideal Army leader with strong intellect, physical presence, professional competence, high moral character, and serves as a role model fo so many.
He had in mind that army leaders recognize that organizations, built on mutual trust and confidence, successfully accomplish peacetime and wartime missions.
In the first Convention of the SPLM/A, he rose up tall and spoke to John Garang about issues surrounding the war. In one of the SPLA Liberation Council Conferences in the SPLA HQs, He faced President Salva Kiir, telling him whatever others could not share because of fear.
Social media is also mournful with loads of condolence messages, here are a few of the messages:
