Juba City Council Summons Acting Mayor to Address Viral Video Concerns

Juba City Legislative Council issued a summons to the Acting Mayor of Juba City Council, requesting their appearance before the legislative body.

The summons is in accordance with the provisions of the Local Government Act of 2009, Section 37 (Subsection 3). The Acting Mayor has been called upon to address questions pertaining to an ongoing viral video circulating on social media, which has garnered attention and public outcry.

The summons, sent by Honorable Cllr. Dina Keji John, Chairperson of the Juba City Legislative Council, requires the Acting Mayor’s presence before the council on Monday, September 18, 2023, at 11:00 AM. The meeting will take place in the main hall of the JCLC in Kator Block.

The purpose of the summons is to provide an opportunity for the Acting Mayor to respond to concerns raised by the viral video and to provide clarification regarding the events depicted therein. The video has sparked significant public interest and demands for an explanation.
