Kagame Ready to Be Blamed For Doing What He Must Do

NCMP – The international community has continued to blame President Paul Rutagambwa Kagame’s country for the chaos and conflicts in Eastern DR Congo, including a report from the UN and Congolese government blaming them for supporting the Tutsi rebel movement in the country’s east against the Congo government.
While attending the swearing-in ceremony for Rwanda’s new senate president, Francois Xavier Kalinda, he cannot continue to house refugees while also being assaulted, and they are not accepting any more DRC refugees.
“We cannot continue to shelter refugees for whom we are subsequently held liable or even mistreated as a consequence of ethnic cleansing in another nation,” he stated in response to his proclamation.
While addressing this worldwide community problem, Kagame had to move from his native tongue to English in order for his message to be properly heard, stating that they were ready and willing to be blamed for doing what they had to do.
“We are ready to be blamed, but we will be blamed for doing what we must,” he said.
This comes at a time when other East African communities have dispatched soldiers to DRC to help with peacekeeping, including South Sudan forces who are not yet verified to be involved in the DRC wars.
It should be noted that the current violence in DRC and the massive refugee crisis have their roots in the 1994 Rwanda genocide, which gave birth to more opportunistic rebel groups after Hutu genocidaires fled to eastern DRC and formed armed groups to oppose the Tutsi, with the March 23 (M23) being one of the most prominent rebel groups.
