Kenya mandates Covid vaccinations for government employees.

Kenyan government employees have been given 13 days to get the Covid vaccine or risk unspecified disciplinary action.
The head of the public service stated in a statement that the order was issued due to the low uptake of Covid-19 vaccines among public servants, particularly teachers and those in the security sector.
Certain public employees had purposefully avoided vaccination in order to avoid working, a practice that was hurting service delivery, he added.
Kenya announced 745 new coronavirus cases on Monday, bringing the total to 212,573 confirmed cases since the epidemic started.
The government announced last week that it had administered more than 1.7 million AstraZeneca vaccines, the majority of which were first doses.
The organization’s goal is to vaccinate ten million individuals by the end of the year.
