Kenyan presidential escort officer found dead in his house

At Juja, Kiambu County, Kenya, a police officer assigned to the elite presidential bodyguard team committed himself in his home.
Constable Samuel Ngatia, who was an escort to Deputy President William Ruto’s security team, died on Monday morning after shooting himself in the head.
Local media sources indicate that the 35-year-old was alone in a residence inside the General Service Unit’s Recce unit base along Kenyatta Road at the time of the event.
The incident’s motivation remains unknown while an inquiry by a team of investigators from Thika and Juja continues.
Official investigations, however, indicate that the presidential bodyguard used his handgun to blow out his skull, with the bullet entering on the right side and exiting on the left.
In the residence, police discovered a Jericho pistol loaded with 13 rounds and a Trevor Sub Machine Gun with two magazines filled with 30 bullets.
Additionally, police seized two expended cartridges and a bullet head.
Since then, the corpse has been transported to the morgue.
