Kenya Defense Forces (KDF) elite troops have killed five terrorists from the IS-CAP terror organization in the eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo.
The unit is part of the United Nations Stabilization Mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and has fought with forces from Tanzania, South Africa, and Nepal (Monusco).

IS-CAP, which stands for Isis Central African Republic, has terrorized inhabitants of the eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo, Mozambique, and Uganda for the last five years.
Last year, President Uhuru Kenyatta directed that the Kenya Defense Force (KDF) dispatch its Quick Reaction Force (QRF) to the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) to assist stabilize the area.
For over three decades, eastern Congo has been plagued by instability, which has resulted in the displacement of millions of people.
According to the Centre for International Cooperation, the area is home to over 120 armed organizations.
The KDF, which has been fighting in Somalia for the past ten years, has at least 200 men in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
