Kiir dissolves NDC, reconstitutes parliament, Tut Gatluak now a member of R-TNLA

According to decrees readout on the state-owned SSBC, South Sudan President Salva Kiir Mayardit has issued two presidential decrees forming the Reconstituted Transitional National Legislative Assembly and dissolving the National Dialogue Steering Committee(NDC).

It is a giant step in the implementation of the revitalized peace agreement, and it marks a few steps towards the end of the completion of the implementation of Chapter two of the peace deal.
Kiir has appointed 550 politicians comprising opposition and government officials as part of the 2018 peace agreement. Presidential advisor on security Tut Gatluak was also appointed among members of the R-TNLA representing the ruling SPLM faction.
The former Transitional government shall nominate 332 members, SPLM-IO with 128, members and South Sudan Opposition Alliance, or SSOA, with 50 members.
The Other Political Parties, OPP shall have 30 representatives and the Former Detainees with 10.
South Sudan’s main armed opposition group, SPLM-IO welcomed the president’s action.
