The National minister of youth and sports, Dr. Albino Bol Dhieu came out and urged the government of South Sudan to mobilize the South Sudanese players in other international leagues to join the team.
This came after the basketball team known as Bright stars qualified for the FIBA World Cup before he stated that the campaign will kick start in July before finally going to Japan in August.
His suggestion was backed up by the president’s call who also called upon those players to join the team so that the country is made proud adding that he is ready to support the team in the FIBA World Cup campaigns scheduled in August 2023.
The president also praised the patriotic decision made by the team to represent the country regardless of the forgery of luxuries in western countries.
Gen. Kuol Mayaang Juuk, the senior presidential advisor also remarked on the success of the team and congratulated them upon making it to the top as the African team before he added that sports bring people together and can possibly be the best way of bringing peace back to the country.
