However, the People’s Coalition for Civil Action (PCCA) is now urging the government to first end the ongoing conflict, and then increase salaries by 4000 percent, which it says will make life easier for citizens.

They demand “An immediate end to the war, bloodshed, and all forms of violence in the country and “immediate improvement in the economic conditions in the country.” The group also demanded an “immediate increment by 4000 percent and payment of salaries for soldiers, civil servants, doctors, teachers, and local government officials, including immediate payment of all salary arrears of public employees, including diplomats.

“Why 4000 percent? Well, if you are making 1,200 SSP and if we raise your pay by 4000 percent, your salary becomes 48,000 SSP, which is equivalent to $100 USD a month. This is not too much to ask for those serving our country.”

They want an “instant stop to the war, bloodshed, and all forms of violence in the nation” as well as an “immediate improvement in the country’s economic situation.”

The group also sought a “4000 percent instant raise and payment of salaries for troops, civil servants, physicians, teachers, and local government officials, as well as quick payment of all salary arrears of public employees, including diplomats.”
