NBA Africa and Stanbic Bank have agreed to a basketball partnership.

NBA Africa, Stanbic Bank South Sudan, and the Luol Deng Foundation (LDF) have signed a three-year collaboration deal to improve junior league basketball in the country.
According to the deal, Stanbic Bank South Sudan, the National Basketball Association of Africa, and the Luol Deng Foundation have committed to constructing basketball courts across the nation, beginning in Juba.
The contract is crucial for the young South Sudanese who will be the country’s future leaders, according to Rebecca Nyanydeng, vice president for the Gender and Youth Cluster. She made this remark at the signing ceremony.
“I commend the leadership of the NBA Africa, Stanbic Bank, and the Luol Deng Foundation for organizing the country’s first junior basketball league,” Gander, the Youth Cluster vice president, stated.
The transaction is for three years and is worth around $100 million, according to Andrew Murugu, country head of Stanbic Bank of South Sudan, who was present at the occasion.
He said that the basketball court will be built in Juba as part of the agreement and that it would eventually be expanded to include all 50 states.
“The league will use the potential of South Sudanese boys and girls under the age of 16 and is designed by the NBA to engage the young in basketball,” Murugu said.
The South Sudan Basketball Federation’s founder, Luol Deng, complimented Stanbic Bank and the NBA Africa for working with him to promote basketball in the nation. Luol Deng established the Luol Deng Foundation as well.
“Being a part of this partnership gives me the impression that it is really important for our nation.” “I think that kind of support will help our basketball flourish,” he said.
Other businesses throughout the nation were asked to join them in sponsoring sports in their own communities.
Vice President Nyanydeng and other key government officials were present at the signing ceremony at Juba’s Radisson Blue Hotel.
South Sudanese youngsters under the age of sixteen will compete in the Stanbic Junior NBA League.
