NEW CARE-TAKER BISHOP OF RUBMEK’S HOUSE ROBBED OF $20K MEANT FOR BISHOP CALASSARE’S TREATMENT

A group of armed robbers have broken into the residence of newly-appointed Bishop of Wau Catholic Mathew Remijio and walked away with 20,000 United States Dollars.
The robbers broke into the bishop’s residence at 6pm local time on Sunday and added SSP 70,000 to the ill-gotten USD 20k.
Other items taken from the house are:-a thuraya phone, laptops and documents, and other electronic gadgets in the house.
A local radio station reported that Bishop Remijio said he returned home, only to find his house was broken into.
The case has been reported to the police station. By the time of writing, no suspects have been apprehended.
However, Minister of cabinet Affairs in Western Bahr El Ghazal State, Arkangelo Anyar, said the incident happened last evening and that investigations were ongoing to bring the culprits to justice.
The money stolen was allegedly a contribution from the church meant to be sent to Christian Calassare, a bishop who was shot in both legs and currently receiving treatment in Nairobi.
