John Obiero Nyagarama, is the first and incumbent Governor of Nyamira County government, deputised by Hon. Amos Nyaribo. He is a member of the Orange Democratic Movement and was elected as the first Governor of Nyamira Government on the ODM ticket in March 2013 and subsequently retained his seat for the second term beginning August 2017.
Rumors have been circulating that he is suffering from Covid 19 and he is in the hospital. This rumors have been confirmed by blogger Cyprian Nyakundi and on his post he wrote, “Confirmed reports: Nyamira county governor in ICU at the Nairobi Hospital over Covid. QR!”
This was posted by another kisii blogger called Abuga Makori on his Twitter handle. On the post he wrote, ” Sad that my Governor, H. E Nyagarama and First Lady Naomi are fighting for their lives at Nairobi Hospital. Sources tell me that it’s covid-19. DG Nyaribo just recovered from the virus last week. Nyagarama is said to be in ICU. May he recover soonest. @Gideon_Kitheka”
