Over 200 people have died in cattle-related violence in Kapoeta North County.

235 people have died in cattle-related violence in Kapoeta North County, Eastern Equatoria State, and the deputy chief of the Pibor region has blamed his young for taking part in the assault.
More than 70 individuals were purportedly slaughtered last week in a livestock raid carried out by a coalition of adolescents from Budi, Lafon, and Greater Pibor, according to county officials.
When reached on Monday, Kapoeta North County Commissioner Emmanuel Epone Lolimo said that a total of 235 people had been confirmed killed.
“We are not celebrating the killing, but we are also angry that they came to raid us.” We haven’t had a fight in sixteen years.”
” As a result of this occurrence, the death toll has risen to 235, which is not good. This large number is not being celebrated. But we blame them for attacking us.”
Meanwhile, John Abula, Deputy Chief Administrator of Greater Pibor Administrative Region, acknowledged the involvement of certain youth from his area and chastised them for crossing into Eastern Equatoria State to raid.
“Because cattle raiding usually results in the loss of life, we are not concerned about that occurrence because they sacrificed their lives to that level.”
Abula said that the Eastern Equatoria state governor, Louis Lobong, told him of the occurrence, adding that the losses were not unexpected.
“So, we found that there were some fatalities and deaths there as well, but this is not surprising given that they were the ones who opted to travel there.”
He claims that they have planned a seminar to persuade the teenagers in the region to stop livestock raiding and kidnapping.
