Passengers were evacuated from Entebbe due to a suspected fire breakout.

There was fear at Entebbe International Airport on Tuesday afternoon when a fire breakout was detected in the terminal building.
A source who wanted anonymity because he’s not permitted to talk to the media claimed the fire was triggered by a short circuit owing to an ongoing expansion works at the airport.
The source stated that all passengers who were in transit were removed from the terminals and that this would cause delays to the planned flights.
When this reporter visited the airport, it was bustling with numerous incoming travelers spotted exiting the parking lot, while a fair number of intended travelers were seen sitting outside the departure terminal.
When approached, the Uganda Civil Aviation Authority spokesman, Mr. Vianney Luggya requested more time to obtain facts regarding the event before he could respond.
