Reconstituted national parliament to be sworn in on 9 July.

Office of the President revealed that the national members of Parliament will be sworn in on the 10th anniversary of the South Sudan Independent that is 9th July 2021.
According to his, the Peace MPs will take the oath of office together with appointed members of the Council of States and the state legislatures.
This was disclosed by Ateny Wek Ateny, the press secretary in the Office of the President during an interview session with the Juba-based media house, Eye Radio.
He further mentioned that there is a committee that is working to ensure the complete formation of the parliament at the state level. He said it will be completed within a few days, and the committee may set July 9th as the day for swearing-in.
They will take oath of office together with appointed members of the Council of States and the state legislatures.
The development comes after the IGAD Council of Ministers urged the unity government to expedite the swearing-in of the members of parliament.
President Salva Kiir appointed legislators about a month ago, but they are yet to begin work.
