According to Doctors Union, health professionals in the country are paid too little, with no benefits and retention packages.
Doctors and health workers have gone on strike at the Juba Teaching Hospital
Recently, Doctors and health workers laid down their tools at the Juba Teaching Hospital demanding the government to pay their COVID-19 incentives and other unpaid arears.
The sit-down strike has reportedly left several patients into squalid conditions as they remain unattended to.
According to some of the health workers, the government through the Ministry of Health has not been paying them since January this year.
The medical workers also disclosed that the hospital lacks disposable nitrile gloves, face masks and other essential drugs necessary to save the lives of critically ill patients.
