Scholarships for Refugees and Host Students

Unleash Your Potential with Community Empowerment for Creative Innovation (CECI Uganda)!
With the support of the Mastercard Foundation through War Child Canada, CECI Uganda is proud to offer 1200 fully funded scholarships to refugees and host students. This project, known as the “Bridge From Secondary Education and Skills Development to Job Opportunities for Refugees and Host Community Youth in Uganda”, will provide Accelerated Education Programme (AEP) to students who dropped out of school.
Starting in 2023, CECI Uganda will award 300 scholarships annually until 2026. These scholarships are available for students who dropped out of P.7, S.1, 2, 3, 4, 5, & 6 or who sat their PLE 2 years ago but never sat UCE or sat but failed, or ones who never sat their UACE.
Recipients of LEVEL 1 (P.7, S.1 & 2) will take transition exams and advance to LEVEL 2. Meanwhile, LEVEL 2 (S.3, 4, 5 & 6) will take the Uganda National Examination Board (UNEB) UCE exams, leading to Advanced Level of Education or Business Technical Vocational Education and Training (BTVET).
CECI Uganda is dedicated to increasing girls’ access to education. As such, 70% of the scholarships will go to female applicants and refugees, while the remaining will be awarded to male applicants and students from host communities.
The scholarship recipients will study at AEP Centers or secondary schools located in refugee hosting areas. These include Padrombu Secondary School in Lobule Sub-County and Millenium College in Kuluba Sub-County.
