South Sudan is ready to take on the task once more| FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 African Qualifiers

South Sudan stunned the world in Window 2 of the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 in Dakar, being the only team from Groups B and D to go unbeaten.
After defeating Cameroon 74-68, the World Cup African Qualifiers debutant improved on their dramatic triumph against defending African champions Tunisia to remain unbeaten in Group B.
With a combined 45 points, Nuni Omot and Anyiarbany Makoi led the South Sudanese attack, while Deng Acuoth guarded the South Sudanese rim with a tournament-high four blocked shots.
After victories against Rwanda, Tunisia, and Cameroon, South Sudan now leads their group with a 3-0 record.
Teams must finish in the top three positions in Groups A, B, C, and D to progress to the second round of the World Cup African Qualifiers.
After eliminating Tunisia’s undefeated record in Africa, Africa’s newest nation astonished the globe.
South Sudan has a 3-0 record and is in complete control of their African Qualifiers’ fate, but what could possibly go wrong for them?
Coach Luol Deng remarked, “We’ll do the same work,” adding, “We still have the underdog mindset.” We’re up 3-0, but we can’t get too carried away. We’re going to give it all we’ve got. We’re going to practice and improve. We haven’t accomplished anything. If we don’t come prepared, we might easily be 3-3.”
