South Sudan: JCC urged to follow through with the inked GO-Green MOU.

The Juba City Council has inked an MOU with a private business for waste collection in the city.
This is according to Michael Allah-Jabu, the newly elected Mayor of Juba City Council.
Some Juba residents have often expressed their dissatisfaction with the authority’s tardy and sluggish rubbish pickup.
Many people complained that too much rubbish was endangering their health and blamed it on the City Council, which is in charge of garbage collection in Juba.
They also accuse certain staff members in the Mayor’s office of taking money from the public without providing the necessary service.
Mr. Allah-Jabu, on the other hand, now claims that his government has hired East Africa Go-Green to collect all waste in Juba’s streets.
According to Allah-Jabu, the firm would begin collecting as early as January 2022.
He also encourages members of the public to work with his office to solve the issues that they are encountering.
“We have signed a deal with this firm, and we will offer a household waste collection service beginning in January,” Mr. Allah-Jabu told the reporters in Juba on Friday.
Juba City Council has vowed to hire an independent business to manage rubbish collection in residential areas in 2019.
However, no outcomes from the commitment have been witnessed so far.
