South Sudanese Lawmaker Calls for Urgent Attention to Health Crisis in Cueibet County

Hon. Juol Nhomngek Daniel, member of the Transitional National Legislative Assembly (TNLA) for Cueibet county in Lakes State, is calling upon journalists and media houses to attend the highly anticipated press statement scheduled to take place on March 28th, 2023 at 11:00 a.m.
The press statement aims to shed light on the persistent health challenges facing the residents of Cueibet County, which have had a devastating impact on women, children, and the elderly.
Cueibet County, one of the most densely populated counties in South Sudan, is unfortunately equipped with limited health facilities.
The sole Referral Hospital located in the county’s headquarters is intended to serve a population of approximately 200,000 people across nine Payams, but currently lacks the necessary facilities and basic drugs required to serve the people.
Hon. Juol Nhomngek Daniel highlights that four Payams, Duony, Yardong, Tiap Tiap, and Citcok, are highly affected by the lack of adequate health facilities.
The upcoming press statement will delve into the aforementioned challenges, along with other health-related issues affecting the people of Cueibet County.
Hon. Juol Nhomngek Daniel emphasizes that the statement will be an opportunity for journalists and media houses to inform the public, both locally and beyond, about the predicaments facing the people of Cueibet County.
Furthermore, he hopes that the government will take immediate action to address the issues raised in the statement.
Hon. Juol Nhomngek Daniel concludes by stating that the press statement will focus solely on Cueibet County, and any questions asked by journalists must remain within this context.
The upcoming press statement is expected to be an eye-opener on the dire health situation in Cueibet County and a call to action for the government to improve the health facilities available to the people.
