SSPM/A condemns the social media statement by the Tonj community leader

The SSPM/A today condemned a statement made by Tonj community leader, Ustaz Lewis Anei Madut, claiming that the SSPA attacked Apuk-Padoc in the Akop area, Warrap state, killing innocent civilians and taking away an unknown number of cattle.
The SSPM/A called the statement “misinformed” and urged Ustaz Lewis Anei Madut to investigate the source of his information.
The chairman and commander-in-chief of the SSPM/A expressed condolences to the families and relatives of the deceased, condemning the attack on innocent civilians by Mayom-based militias.
The SSPM/A reiterated its mission to liberate the people of South Sudan from dictatorship rule and not be the enemy of the people of South Sudan.
The Mayom-based militias have reportedly been raiding cattle across the border under the guise of armed civilians for years.
The SSPM/A urged Ustaz Lewis Anei Madut to thoroughly investigate the source of his information before making public statements on social media.
