According to the Information Minister in the Touch County of Ruweng Administrative Area, at least 17 individuals were slain in a revenge-related incident on Saturday.
According to James Arop, the violence stems from an incident in Touch County’s Bolyaar Boma on the 6th and 10th of this month, when three men were purportedly slain at a fishing location and another at his residence by armed individuals.
Authorities in the region believe the assault was carried out by youth from a nearby neighborhood.
It sparked a retaliatory attack on the neighboring state of Unity on Saturday, injuring more than 20 people.
Arop is now urging the kids of competing villages to desist from violence.
