Logistics of getting the vaccine into Uganda and around the country will be handled by UNICEF Uganda.
Through the Ministry of Health, Uganda received the first batch of 864,000 doses of the AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccine donations from the COVAX facility on March 5.
The arrival of the vaccines comes at a time when the country is running short of medical oxygen and experiencing an increase in the number of positive cases recorded daily during this second wave.
