Upper Nile State Transitional Legislative Assembly Concludes Business for 2023, Sets Date for Next Session
The Upper Nile State Transitional Legislative Assembly, in its extraordinary sitting No. 1 for the year 2023, successfully concluded its business. The session was chaired by the Right Honorable Speaker, Chuol Dep Kir.
Assembly members warmly welcomed the announcement and extended their gratitude to Speaker Chuol Dep Kir for his unwavering commitment to their welfare and for maintaining the unity of the Assembly in the best interest of the people of Upper Nile State.
The members expressed their appreciation for the Speaker’s leadership and his efforts to ensure the successful operation of the Assembly.
The Assembly will now enter a recess period, during which the members will actively engage with their constituents and oversee the implementation of agreements reached. This recess period will provide an opportunity for Assembly members to connect with the concerns and needs of the people they represent.
In his closing remarks, Speaker Chuol Dep Kir acknowledged the commitment of each member and their valuable contributions during the five months of operation. He assured the members of his continued commitment and readiness to advocate for their rights and interests.
Looking ahead, the Right Honorable Speaker announced that the Assembly will reconvene for its first session of the year 2024 during the first week of March.
This future session will provide an opportunity for the Assembly to address pending matters, engage in legislative initiatives, and promote the development and prosperity of Upper Nile State.
